I. General Rules
1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
If someone messes up or does something you don't like, put yourself in their shoes. Would you like to be yelled at? I bet you wouldn't. Try and have consideration for others, please.
2. Powerplaying is fine in small doses.
Powerplaying is when you take control of someone else's character. A small bit of powerplaying to move the storyline along is fine. A whole lot of powerplaying that gives an unfair advantage to your character is not.
3. Arguments from other forums stay in other forums.
Flame wars are not the answer. Flame wars that have been quite unnecessarily brought upon us here are definitely not the answer. If you really have a problem with rudeness somewhere else, PM me. Get it out of your system. But don't just rant about it in public.
4. Have fun!
Last but definitely not least. This place is meant to be fun! If you're having trouble doing that, PM me and I'll try to sort things out.

II. Rules For Adoptable Makers
1. Nothing terribly gory.
I think this speaks for itself...
2. Mating is okay - but keep it PG13.
Many adoptable makers let their creations mate. This is just fine, but don't overdo it. I think I speak for most of us when I say we don't really want to hear the details.
3. Have fun!
Don't try anything terribly complicated that takes three hours to complete. I can guarantee that lots of people will want them and you'll get stressed out. That's no fun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
III. Adoptable Profile Format
Everyone makes a thread for their adoptables.
Each adoptable should have a profile:
Name:
Gender:
Age: (optional)
Picture:
Backstory: (optional)
Abilities:
Equipment: (leave blank if none)
Creator:
Please limit your adoptable's abilites to reasonable things. That gigantic slug thing can't fly unless you can explain it to me or another admin.
Adoptables from any source are fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IV. About Houses
There will always be houses available for new members. When more members join new houses will be built. Each house has enough space to showcase 3 adoptables. You can buy more space at the Carpenter's Guild.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
V. Bank Accounts
Make a thread to keep their money in. Post it like this:
Gold Pieces:
Platinum Pieces:
Things Bought:
Things Sold:
Update your account any time you feel like it, unless you want me to do it. Tell me if you do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
VI. Money-Making
So you're staring at your little pile of 100 gold pieces and thinking, "How can I get more?" Here's how:
1. Post.
You get 2 gp every time you post. Posts in Any Old Thing are not counted. If you spam anywhere other than Any Old Thing, you will probably get fined.
2. Get promoted.
You get 100 gp when you're promoted, so be nice!
3. RP.
Every now and then when you RP, an admin will pop in and tell you there's some money nearby! The first poster to claim it will get it, and they can do as they wish with it (Sharing might get you a job as an admin. )
4. Be honest about your gold.
You may feel like you want more gold and just update your bank account to have 100000 pp... but really, you shouldn't. Every month that passes with you being honest about your gold earns you a present of 1-20 gp (randomly determined). If you aren't honest, you'll be fined, and if you keep doing this, you'll start getting warnings. If you ignore the warnings, your account may get deleted!

VII. About Shops
Your dragon looks so plain without a hoard. Your battle-hungry tiger wants more power. Go to the shops!
If you wish to open a shop, please remember these simple rules:
1. Charge reasonable prices.
Charging 3 pp for something made of copper is just outrageous. Be reasonable! A good rule of thumb for baubles is:
- For every jewel, charge 2 gp.
- For gold, charge 3 gp.
- For silver, charge 1 gp.
- For silk or velvet, charge 1 gp.
- For intricate designs, charge 2 gp.
- For simple designs, charge 1 gp.
A good rule of thumb for magic is:
- For every non-combative ability (mind reading, invisibility) charge 10 gp.
- For every weak combat ability (speed, strength) charge 20 gp.
- For every medium combat ability (shapeshifting) charge 30 gp.
- For every strong combat ability (pyrotechnics, energy blast) charge 40 gp.
2. Have fun!
This seems to be a rule for everything. But it's definitely important.

That's it! Now go have some fun in assurance that you've seen all the rules.
